It is important to take time to celebrate.
To celebrate all the good things in life.
Such as our achievements, our anniversaries, or our relationships.
Celebrating them by looking back on them.
On how they have changed us over the years.
And what we have gained from them.
The reason celebration is so important is that it comes down to a very practical purpose.
For it is far easier to remember the negative, trying times that it is to remember the good times.
We instinctively remember all the pain, anguish, and trouble we've been through so easily.
The mind naturally holds on to the painful moments to protect us.
To help avoid feeling that pain again.
So to truly appreciate the joyful, happy moments in our lives takes more effort.
It takes time and energy to recall and remember those moments when it just felt good to be alive.
To be with someone we love.
Or to remind ourselves how it felt when someone actually did something for us out of the goodness of their hearts.
Especially compared to all the difficult times we've been through.
Yet that is because we have not taken the time to truly focus on those wonderful moments and what they mean to us.
The amazing thing is that once we do, we find more and more of them.
As we put our minds and our hearts into recalling the great things that we have lived through, we start to remember more of them.
For the more we make an effort to recall them the more we can find other joyful moments to remember as well.
Of course, we will always have challenges and hard times to face.
There is no need to ignore those.
The more we recall the joy of life the more joy we will experience.
Even in little things.
Do you have a hard time recalling the joyful moments in your life?
What can you do to make more of an effort to remember them?
