We often think we know what we want.
Logically, we can desire something specific.
Perhaps to surrender to an experience.
Yet somehow, we can't
So we get confused.
And we can ask ourselves, why it isn't working.
So we get upset.
We might even blame someone else for not getting what we think we want.
Or we could even end up blaming ourselves.
Creating a story of something we did wrong and that's why it is not working.
From the outside it might seem obvious.
And we then get mad.
I want to surrender! we say to ourselves.
Yet this type of surrender does not come from our head.
The mind might convince us that this experience is what we really want.
That it will be good for us.
Still we find ourselves not dropping into the experience.
Our bodies have a far greater intelligence than our minds.
And the body knows that we are not quite ready for that experience that we think we want.
So the body moves slowly.
More slowly than the mind.
Or not.
Sometimes the body knows that now is not the right time for the experience and it will just not surrender at all.
Nothing the mind can do will force the body tot surrender.
Maybe we can try a different approach.
Next time we could try not being so attached to what we think we want and just trust the body.
And that the experience we are having, even if it is not what we think we want, is exactly the experience we need to have at this moment.
Surrendering to the moment requires a great deal of trust.
Learning to trust in small things first before jumping to the big experience might serve us a whole lot better.
Are you able to surrender to the moment?
Do you find yourself judging the experience when it is not what you expected?
