Sometimes we have a tendency.

One that does not serve us at all.

Where we critiize ourselves for any mistake.

Or for just being different.

For some reason we tend think it is all our fault.

That there must be something wrong with us.

If that person can be okay with it, then why can't I?

Perhaps it goes something like this, "They got better from doing XYZ, what's wrong with me that I can't?"

This self blame is often accompanied by comparing ourselves with others.

When we do not live up to some imaginary standard that we set for ourselves, yet others do, we feel less than and ashamed.

It is an interesting trap we set for ourselves that keeps us in pain.

Keeps us from digging in deeper to the underlying issue.

For when we are ashamed of what we have or haven't done, we can't get in there and understand why.

Or we simply learn to not accept ourselves how we are.

We get stuck in the blame and shame and cannot find our way through.

Because to get through the shame and the blame we have to go deeper.

To really see ourselves from a higher perspective and from a more compassionate place.

Just because we do not respond the way someone else does, or live up to something that someone else can accomplish, does not mean we are bad or broken.

All it means is that we are different.

Different in so many ways.

And that difference is not good or bad.

It is just our unique way that we show up in the world.

Our path is always unique to us and comparing to anyone else only does a disservice to ourselves.

There is nothign to be ashamed of or to be blamed for.

This is how we add to the tapestry of life with our own unique colors.

Our being different enriches the world, not diminish it.

Just because we respond differently or show up differebtly than someone else, does not make us wrong or bad.

It just makes us different.

Thank goodness we are different.

How boring would the world be if we were all the same?
