So welcome to the 5th podcast in this special series, which will feature, a special and unique human being. Chef, Nico. We are going to have an amazing conversation about cannabis, psilocybin, and nutrition.

00:01:56.810 --> 00:02:08.339 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: Before I go into asking the questions. Please, chef Nico, introduce yourself and tell us a little bit about who you are and what you do in the many interesting areas, and are going to discuss this evening.

00:02:08.990 --> 00:02:30.420 Chef Nikko: Okay, thank you. Good day to everybody and all the listening and viewing audience. My name is Chef Nico, and I am an author, and as a profession I am a nutritional coach and consultant for over 27 years, and I help Ceos entrepreneurs, general, public, and small business owners understand

00:02:30.420 --> 00:02:41.350 Chef Nikko: how to have a greater balanced relationship with food by coding and charting, where plant-based electrical elements want to go.

00:02:41.360 --> 00:02:57.129 Chef Nikko: lay over or settle in the human mind, body and heart. And currently I am the trusted partner and nutritional expert for the Nfl retired players. Congress and I'm loving every minute of it. So let's get active.

00:02:57.340 --> 00:03:10.390 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: That's good. So, Stephanie, let's start with some questions on cannabis. How has the perception of cannabis in health and wellness evolved over the years, and what are some of the biggest misconceptions people still have.

00:03:11.180 --> 00:03:13.560 Chef Nikko: Okay? Good question. Well.

00:03:14.090 --> 00:03:37.489 Chef Nikko: the perception of cannabis in health and wellness has significantly shifted in years, right? Moving from widely viewed as a harmful drug to a natural plant used as a solution to bridge various conditions in the human body, largely due to increasing research and legalization in many regions and countries.

00:03:37.510 --> 00:04:02.819 Chef Nikko: however significant misconceptions remain, including the belief that cannabis is completely non addictive, has no negative cognitive effects, and is safe for everyone to use, particularly during pregnancy or while operating machinery. So yeah, those things we're going to unpack a little bit more.

00:04:02.970 --> 00:04:16.869 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: Okay, great, fantastic. So another question, what are the key differences between Thc and Cbd in terms of their effects on the body? And how can individuals determine which is best for their wellness? Goals.

00:04:16.870 --> 00:04:27.870 Chef Nikko: I like that. Okay? So the main difference between Thc and cannabis is that Thc is a psychoactive, while Cbd is not

00:04:28.050 --> 00:04:51.040 Chef Nikko: Thc causes a high and other psychoactive effects, while once again Cbd does not. Now another interesting acronym is thca, which is tetrahydrocannabinolic acid thc is tetrahydrocannabinol so once again, Thca is tetrahydrocannabinolic acid.

00:04:51.040 --> 00:05:02.720 Chef Nikko: which is the predecessor to delta 9 Thc. And understand, ladies and gentlemen, we're going to be throwing out some of these acronyms and getting into some science, so take it gently with me.

00:05:02.740 --> 00:05:17.460 Chef Nikko: Thca is a non intoxicating cannabinoid found in cannabis plants, while Delta 9 thc is the psychoactive form of Thc. Now

00:05:17.550 --> 00:05:20.670 Chef Nikko: Thca is converted

00:05:20.790 --> 00:05:30.529 Chef Nikko: into Delta 9 thc. When heated to a temperature between 200 290 degrees.

00:05:30.600 --> 00:05:36.860 Chef Nikko: And why does this happen. Let's just unpack this because transparency is key. When we're having these dynamic conversations.

00:05:36.880 --> 00:05:45.939 Chef Nikko: plants have been on Earth for over 3.5 billion years. What does that really mean to this conversation that the plant world

00:05:45.940 --> 00:06:07.369 Chef Nikko: has taken on the earth, as it has been extremely hot and has cooled down to environments that allow humans to even exist on Earth. So we're talking about volcanic eruptions, extremely hot springs, different gases in the environments. All of this plants have actually taken on.

00:06:07.390 --> 00:06:33.070 Chef Nikko: adapted to and evolved into the state that they are as of right now. So what does that mean? That means that heat is a very important component to certain plants releasing new chemicals. So let's go right back to the fact that the temperature has to be between 200 290°F. Now this process is called

00:06:33.070 --> 00:06:38.760 Chef Nikko: decarboxylation, and you know what, while I'm on this topic of decarbing.

00:06:39.040 --> 00:07:00.990 Chef Nikko: have to give a big salute to the late great Frenchie cannoli remember sharing a platform with him about maybe 3 or 4 years ago. And that was amazing. Right? Guy 10, I mean, we learned so much from the master of decarboxylation. So this is, you know, this is where things really are in regards to Thc.

00:07:01.350 --> 00:07:02.699 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: Exactly. I remember that.

00:07:02.700 --> 00:07:06.190 Chef Nikko: You know what? One thing, Delta 9.

00:07:09.880 --> 00:07:19.399 Chef Nikko: It's a language that sounds really good when you see it on packages and and when we're talking about it, but I don't hear too many people unpacking that so real quick. Let me just unpack that

00:07:19.570 --> 00:07:29.170 Chef Nikko: Delta 9 has to do with the double bonding carbon chain, meaning that on the 9th atomic carbon

00:07:29.300 --> 00:07:38.330 Chef Nikko: it bonds. When you have delta 8 on the 8th atomic carbon, you have a bond. Same thing with Delta 10 on the 10th

00:07:38.330 --> 00:07:59.549 Chef Nikko: atomic carbon. You have this bond. Without this bond we will not have the psychoactive effects that take place. So that's why you have this scientific language called Delta, 9, Delta 8, and Delta 10 generally. Delta 9 is a more stronger effect when it comes to experiencing the psychoactive from Thc.

00:07:59.930 --> 00:08:22.539 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: And we won't get into it here. But there is some research out there where they're moving, removing those molecules and so on, in order to remove the trip and cannabis. But that's for another podcast but right now, what I want to ask you, chef nico is. Many people use cannabis for stress, anxiety, and sleep. What does the research say about its effectiveness? And are there any risks to consider.

00:08:24.480 --> 00:08:25.660 Chef Nikko: Okay?

00:08:25.810 --> 00:08:45.170 Chef Nikko: Well, while research indicates that cannabis may offer some temporary relief for stress anxiety, sleep issues for certain individuals. It's important to be aware that it can also have negative effects, particularly with frequent or high dose usage.

00:08:45.200 --> 00:09:15.049 Chef Nikko: including increased anxiety, impaired memory and addiction potential. Therefore, consulting a healthcare professional before using. Cannabis is best practice, and regarding dosage and strains, there are simple rules to follow to manage the risk, and there is a mantra that we all understand, and for those that don't, I will introduce you to that statement. That statement is dose low

00:09:15.150 --> 00:09:22.679 Chef Nikko: and dose slow. This is very important. So we're going to unpack this dose. Slow means to take one hit.

00:09:23.230 --> 00:09:36.930 Chef Nikko: Wait 15 min. Why? 15 min. Because the same chemical processing of digesting food when you eat or drink takes about 15 min. When you actually smoke.

00:09:37.180 --> 00:09:40.319 Chef Nikko: The gas that comes from the smoke

00:09:41.050 --> 00:09:55.389 Chef Nikko: cells cannot stop it immediately just enters and interacts. But it still takes about 15 min for the body to understand the full effect. So, going back to that, you now know what slow is.

00:09:55.770 --> 00:10:23.730 Chef Nikko: you'll know if you can handle more after that. So now, dosing low means choosing a certain strain with low Thc. Or high Cbd content may be better for managing anxiety and stress. Because, you know, people react differently to cannabis, and what works for one person may not work for another same thing with food. Somebody might have a reaction to

00:10:26.420 --> 00:10:31.260 Chef Nikko: draw varies differently than somebody may have. And if why.

00:10:31.600 --> 00:10:56.739 Chef Nikko: it's a plant. And the plant world once again has been around on Earth for 3.5 billion years. So this means, if you don't manage your ways properly with plants, plants will definitely manage you effortlessly because they've been here longer than humans, and have adapted to much greater chemicals than the ones that are in the human body.

00:10:57.010 --> 00:11:05.629 Chef Nikko: So once again, the best ways to manage risk with cannabis is to talk to your doctor and dose low and low.

00:11:06.140 --> 00:11:25.620 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: Excellent. And I actually think fungi has been around probably longer. But that's another conversation. So let's get into. We'll get into that. Yeah, from a nutritional and holistic health perspective. How can cannabis be integrated into a balanced wellness routine without dependency or overuse?

00:11:26.400 --> 00:11:27.920 Chef Nikko: Okay? All right.

00:11:28.100 --> 00:11:40.849 Chef Nikko: Raw cannabis leaves, stems, stalks, and seeds can provide the body with almost all the nutritional essential nutrition, including

00:11:41.290 --> 00:12:05.819 Chef Nikko: carbohydrates, proteins, fats, water vitamins, minerals, and trace amounts of calcium, sodium, potassium, and omega. 3 fatty acids now balanced medical cannabis products are cannabis products that have similar ratios of cannabinoids, Thc and Cbd.

00:12:05.910 --> 00:12:23.959 Chef Nikko: These products are commonly referred to as one to one ratio, or said out loud as one to ones. Now the ratio signifies Thc. Content on the left, and Cbd content on the right hand side of the equation.

00:12:24.020 --> 00:12:53.369 Chef Nikko: And now the Royal College of Psychiatry, says Cannabis use can increase the risk of things like depression and suicidal feelings. Your risk of developing psychosis increases the more you use cannabis and the stronger it is so. Some studies say that young cannabis users have an increased risk of developing psychosis.

00:12:53.520 --> 00:13:20.199 Chef Nikko: Now let's talk about something called Ros, because this research, it doesn't just mean that the moment you take a hit, you're going to start having deep levels of depression and suicidal thoughts. How does this build? Ros stands for radical oxygen species? And this is something that naturally happens every time you take a hit, because it's within the carbon smoke.

00:13:20.520 --> 00:13:35.340 Chef Nikko: actually taking a hit, whether it's a joint, whether it's a bong. Whether it's a bowl doesn't matter how you decide to ingest it. If it's coming in as a carbon smoke, Ros, is there? So how do we counteract Ros on a nutritional level.

00:13:36.040 --> 00:13:51.050 Chef Nikko: We use antioxidants because it stops the oxidative stress that comes from radical oxygen species so real quick. How do you go about doing this. Say, you're wrapping up one of your joints

00:13:51.320 --> 00:13:52.929 Chef Nikko: while you're doing that.

00:13:53.350 --> 00:14:01.750 Chef Nikko: Have a thought before you just go to that, and maybe have some berries, with some torn up mint

00:14:02.000 --> 00:14:20.240 Chef Nikko: or and and a few slices of oranges. Now you have your antioxidants, because all your antioxidants are berries and fresh herbs, and then you also have a positive vitamin c and vitamin C actually repairs damaged cells that have been hit by oxidative stress. Now

00:14:20.410 --> 00:14:50.000 Chef Nikko: this is wonderful. You can take a nice bowl of that chew on that while you're rolling up. And guess what, while you're taking your hit. If you ever have some of those effects that we call Cottonmouth, and you need something to help along the way, or you get a strong cough, and you need something to help with the throat. Just continue to enjoy those antioxidants and vitamin C's, and that will give you a very good health and wellness protection for those cells that are actually getting damaged by Ros.

00:14:50.490 --> 00:14:56.799 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: Outstanding. So we're going to go to break when we come back. We're going to talk to Chef Nico about cannabis legalization. So let's go to break.

00:16:44.130 --> 00:17:00.779 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: Welcome back to Talkradio dot nyc, I'm your host, Gaitano Arduiri. So let's get back into it with chef. Nico chef Nico legalization as legalization expands. How do you see cannabis playing a role in the future of health care and personalized medicine?

00:17:01.750 --> 00:17:03.030 Chef Nikko: Okay? Well.

00:17:03.270 --> 00:17:17.730 Chef Nikko: cannabis is increasingly seen as having a significant role in the future of health care due to its potential to treat a wide range of medical conditions, including chronic pain. Nausea.

00:17:17.920 --> 00:17:22.120 Chef Nikko: Excuse me, nausea, absolute epilepsy, anxiety.

00:17:22.220 --> 00:17:52.140 Chef Nikko: and inflammation primarily through the compound of Cbd, which is cannabidiol that's the scientific breakdown of what the acronym Cbd is. Now, Thc, we've also discussed that it is a Tetrahydrocannabinol very strong word. That's why we all say, Thc, okay, which interacts with the body's endocannabinoid system offering a therapeutic benefit with potential

00:17:52.470 --> 00:18:04.620 Chef Nikko: fewer side effects per se compared to traditional medicine. In certain cases. So let's be real cannabis in healthcare 20 years ago

00:18:04.810 --> 00:18:33.819 Chef Nikko: was unthinkable. Right, I mean. But look at it now, from what we already discussed, from pain, management to nausea, to vomiting, epilepsy, anxiety, mental health. And then we have this wonderful thing that most people don't even know about. But I dive into it quite deeply is neurodegenerative diseases that we really need to unpack, because the research in investigating the potential

00:18:33.820 --> 00:18:47.789 Chef Nikko: of cannabinoids to slow down the progression of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's by protecting the brain cells from damage.

00:18:47.940 --> 00:18:53.789 Chef Nikko: Very, very important research. And and I do appreciate that there are those that are doing that.

00:18:54.280 --> 00:18:58.610 Chef Nikko: Now, you know, we also have

00:18:58.630 --> 00:19:26.330 Chef Nikko: cancer treatment that's involved in that. So we can also talk about the dosage and formulation. And that's promoting different cannabis strains and their delivery method, such as the popular one which is smoking. Edibles plenty know about, and oils and tinctures. So it's green gold man. The cannabis is here to stay, and those data analytics have all the evidence

00:19:26.330 --> 00:19:29.100 Chef Nikko: to show. It will activate.

00:19:37.900 --> 00:19:40.179 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: Okay, do we have chef, Nico back?

00:19:40.320 --> 00:19:41.120 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: Are you frozen.

00:19:41.120 --> 00:19:43.080 Chef Nikko: And increasingly in.

00:19:44.600 --> 00:19:45.490 Chef Nikko: I'm here.

00:19:45.690 --> 00:19:46.690 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: Okay, there you go.

00:19:48.300 --> 00:19:50.970 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: Can you hear me? I just you froze for a second. There.

00:19:51.290 --> 00:19:52.670 Chef Nikko: Hear you clearly. We're good.

00:19:53.210 --> 00:19:54.390 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: Thank, okay, great.

00:19:54.990 --> 00:20:13.779 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: So let me, okay, so let's get on another area. Psilocybin. Right? So psilocybin has gained attention for its potential mental health benefits. What does the latest research say about its effectiveness in treating conditions like depression, anxiety, and Ptsd.

00:20:14.500 --> 00:20:21.030 Chef Nikko: Okay, so let's see, in 2024, the Nih.

00:20:21.170 --> 00:20:25.099 Chef Nikko: which is the National Institution of Health.

00:20:25.180 --> 00:20:47.710 Chef Nikko: and that is a National Biotechnology Information center. And in this center we have something called Nlm, better known as the National Library of Medicine. So in 2024, the Nlm released these data showing positive impact of

00:20:47.730 --> 00:21:10.350 Chef Nikko: the reawakening of psilocybin as a potential therapeutic. I mean, they're topping the charts at 134 clinical trials in the last 20 years. But let's be clear. No FDA marketing approval for psilocybin has been achieved yet. So when it comes to conditions like depression.

00:21:10.520 --> 00:21:21.100 Chef Nikko: micro doses of psilocybin, taken every 3 days, can reduce symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress.

00:21:21.320 --> 00:21:26.600 Chef Nikko: Then we have psilocybin treatment combined with psychology

00:21:27.310 --> 00:21:39.590 Chef Nikko: and the ability to support that that support. It can reduce depression symptoms for up to 5 weeks. And we're talking about board certified

00:21:39.850 --> 00:22:03.650 Chef Nikko: psychologists. You have to have a professional to partner with you. This is not something that you just dive into yourself and say, Oh, yeah, I can figure this out now. It is possible that the benefits may last longer than 5 weeks. But these long term effects are individually based, and this may change as more clinical research is done. So

00:22:03.710 --> 00:22:12.540 Chef Nikko: let's just touch on micro doses of psilocybin for just one second, which is 1 5th

00:22:12.640 --> 00:22:33.100 Chef Nikko: of a standard recreational dose of psilocybin, and that standard recreational dose is generally about 5 grams taken every 3 days, and that can reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety and stress. So okay, a lot of talk. But what does that really look like? So

00:22:33.240 --> 00:22:38.879 Chef Nikko: 1 5th of 5 grams equals one gram.

00:22:39.070 --> 00:22:52.619 Chef Nikko: Still, what does that look like when it's in your hand? So for the viewing audience and the listening audience. It looks like one to 2 medium caps and stems

00:22:53.150 --> 00:22:57.460 Chef Nikko: once again, one to 2 medium caps

00:22:57.610 --> 00:23:05.609 Chef Nikko: and medium stems, not those gigantic catheter, big as your eye, and those stems that are as long as your finger, No.

00:23:05.830 --> 00:23:08.819 Chef Nikko: One to 2 medium caps and stems. So

00:23:09.100 --> 00:23:22.239 Chef Nikko: now what about Ptsd, so if you or I were to just Google, a statement about magic mushrooms and how it treats. Ptsd.

00:23:22.670 --> 00:23:32.329 Chef Nikko: Google would show there is currently no publishing of these datas on Psilocybin use for treating Ptsd.

00:23:32.430 --> 00:23:39.580 Chef Nikko: However, when you do a deep dive on the topic and cross-reference these datas.

00:23:40.160 --> 00:23:52.969 Chef Nikko: you'll find evidence that says otherwise. So in 2023. Charles L. Raisin, a professor of Human Ecology and Psychology

00:23:53.550 --> 00:23:58.160 Chef Nikko: at the University of Wisconsin, found that Psilocybin

00:23:58.320 --> 00:24:09.860 Chef Nikko: dosed at 25 milligrams, approximately 2.5 grams, combined with psychology support.

00:24:11.380 --> 00:24:30.659 Chef Nikko: led to a greater depression and anxiety. Improvement in symptoms related to Ptsd. When measured at day 43, which is around 5 weeks, and we've already covered that these 5 weeks are a good midterm

00:24:30.900 --> 00:24:32.950 Chef Nikko: scaling to long term.

00:24:33.290 --> 00:24:55.959 Chef Nikko: Now, this is with no reported significant side effects. So those datas currently support the use of psilocybin for Ptsd. And this is stated in the Journal of Psychopharmacology, and some of that information will be left for the listening and viewing audience for you as well to dive into some of this data.

00:24:56.520 --> 00:25:07.040 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: Excellent, and Ptsd. For listening is post-traumatic stress disorder. And also another good website to look at those clinical trials. Jeff Nico mentioned 134 clinical trials.

00:25:07.040 --> 00:25:28.219 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: There's probably about 100 plus clinical trials in phase, 2 in clintrials.gov. So that's a really good site that all the pharmaceutical companies use to register their trials. clintrials.gov. That's a really good source. So chef, Nico, let's go into some more here. How does psilocybin interact with the brain and body, and what.

00:25:28.220 --> 00:25:28.780 Chef Nikko: Things.

00:25:28.940 --> 00:25:32.720 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: From traditional pharmaceuticals used for mental health treatment.

00:25:33.420 --> 00:25:34.220 Chef Nikko: Okay.

00:25:35.400 --> 00:25:36.780 Chef Nikko: Psilocybin

00:25:37.100 --> 00:25:56.810 Chef Nikko: is a naturally occurring compound, as we do know, found in certain species of mushrooms. And, as Gaetano already said, earlier mushrooms have been on Earth way longer than 3.5 billion years. So the reason why I call it magic mushrooms is because the magic starts when ingested

00:25:57.290 --> 00:26:05.750 Chef Nikko: at that point psilocybin is converted by our body into the chemical psilocin.

00:26:06.440 --> 00:26:11.659 Chef Nikko: and psilocin interacts with serotonin receptors in the brain.

00:26:11.770 --> 00:26:33.390 Chef Nikko: Now serotonin is a hormone and it's 1 of my favorite, actually, because serotonin is known as the Happy Hormone, and we're in the happy spot right now. So let's get into this. So this brings mood, relaxation, joy, and bliss to the brain and the body as a chemical. And did you know

00:26:33.440 --> 00:26:52.899 Chef Nikko: that that is what a biohack is all about. We want to have these positive biohacks that literally force the brain, the body, and the heart to have an uptake in expression. The major difference when dosing slow and low while setting the set

00:26:53.000 --> 00:27:10.790 Chef Nikko: has minimal side effects in comparison to pharmaceutical use for medical health treatment. Now we already covered dose slow and low, but you just heard me say another mantra called set the set. Now these are the rules for psilocybin

00:27:10.790 --> 00:27:37.239 Chef Nikko: dosing. Slow and low are the rules for cannabis. But there's 2 rules for psilocybin. You dose slow and low, and then you set the set meaning. You set your environment for a positive, non-triggering experience. And then you set your mindset to a growth mindset which allows you to experience the brain growth value that comes from psilocybin.

00:27:37.300 --> 00:27:41.400 Chef Nikko: And yes, I am a supporter of pharmacology.

00:27:41.490 --> 00:27:56.629 Chef Nikko: but only as a bridge to the solution, because the chemical side effect is too volatile for an addictive. It's too volatile and addictive to blindly support synthetic chemistry any other way.

00:27:57.470 --> 00:28:02.779 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: And shifty. Could you just give us a little bit more detail on biohacking? That's very interesting, I heard.

00:28:03.580 --> 00:28:06.170 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: or but if you get a little more detail on that.

00:28:06.170 --> 00:28:12.170 Chef Nikko: Love that. Okay? So biohacking, what does that really mean? Let's just say.

00:28:12.580 --> 00:28:33.799 Chef Nikko: when you consume food, the body doesn't know that food it gets digested and then turned into another chemical. Some of these chemicals have the ability to stimulate and go beyond stimulation where they actually, from biomass diversity from plant-based elements.

00:28:34.220 --> 00:29:02.350 Chef Nikko: the brain and force the supercomputer to then bring down those chemicals. Remember, supercomputer is above the forehead, everything else below the forehead is body mechanics. So now this is how we start to create a positive biohack to the body through plant-based electrical elements. The flip side of that is when we're consuming a lot of synthetic chemistry. It's the same biohack.

00:29:02.350 --> 00:29:15.270 Chef Nikko: but it creates a downtake in genetic expression, and our standard for health and wellness is to always create an uptake in genetic expression, thus allowing us to have positive biohacks.

00:29:15.540 --> 00:29:28.020 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: Excellent. Thank you. Let me ask you, so many people associate psilocybin with recreational use. But what are some of the structured therapeutic ways in being used for wellness and personal growth.

00:29:28.670 --> 00:29:44.319 Chef Nikko: Okay? Well, some people like you said, there are some people that use psilocybin as recreational use, because it can provide a feeling of euphoria and sensory heightening that are common to hallucinogenic feelings.

00:29:44.350 --> 00:30:09.020 Chef Nikko: People always want to feel good, right? But what happens when people desire to feel good? I'm going to say that again. People always want to feel good. But what happens when people desire to feel good. So now I'm talking about the word want and desire. And what is the difference? Well, the definition, when you dive deeper into the word want leads to a state of lack.

00:30:09.200 --> 00:30:22.020 Chef Nikko: However, the definition of desire leads to a state of abundance. So when we speak about wellness and personal growth, it's all about.

00:30:46.060 --> 00:30:49.609 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: Okay. I think we got chef Nico frozen here a minute.

00:30:53.120 --> 00:30:55.410 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: Chef, Nico, are you frozen?

00:30:55.630 --> 00:30:56.240 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: It looks like.

00:30:56.240 --> 00:31:00.580 JACK THOMAS (Formerly Larry Mosk): Hey, Gaetano! We're we're gonna move to break for a moment, and then we'll come right back.

00:31:00.810 --> 00:31:01.509 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: Thank you.

00:32:34.550 --> 00:32:46.659 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: Welcome back to Talkradio dot Nyc. I'm your host, Gaitanna Lardiri. So, Shafnik, I think for me you froze a little bit. You want to go over that response again about wellness and personal growth, for Satisyvan.

00:32:46.660 --> 00:32:51.649 Chef Nikko: Absolutely so. We were just going into

00:32:51.930 --> 00:32:55.620 Chef Nikko: what set the set is again.

00:32:55.980 --> 00:32:59.040 Chef Nikko: And that basically means that

00:32:59.130 --> 00:33:08.510 Chef Nikko: we set our environment for a positive, non-triggering surrounding and gear our mind to a growth mindset. So now that we've

00:33:08.580 --> 00:33:25.499 Chef Nikko: unpack that again, now we're clear on that, we can go back to the deeper dive, and being a subject matter expert on nutrition, my team and I use structural well-being applications for wellness and personal growth, and some of these include

00:33:25.510 --> 00:33:32.330 Chef Nikko: cognitive behavioral tracking which identifies the challenges from negative thoughts.

00:33:32.330 --> 00:33:55.100 Chef Nikko: patterns and improve emotional well-being and behavior. Then you have humanistic thought tactics which we focus on self-development, personal growth and recognizing individual strengths and potentials. We also have mindful practices, utilizing meditation and breath work to enhance self-awareness and emotional regulation, also

00:33:55.100 --> 00:34:13.159 Chef Nikko: decision ingenuity, behavioral tracking. And we combine that with other strategies, with mindfulness and emotional regulation techniques particularly useful for managing intense emotions. We also have standard

00:34:13.170 --> 00:34:18.819 Chef Nikko: setting as over goal setting. So

00:34:18.880 --> 00:34:46.459 Chef Nikko: setting clear achievable standards within therapy sessions or coaching sessions to guide personal growth. Now, the human behavioral science shows us that if we have standards over goals. The brain is still pointing itself in a positive direction, even if we don't achieve that standard right away. But if we just stay focused on goals, and we don't achieve that goal.

00:34:46.590 --> 00:35:16.030 Chef Nikko: Our reward system that's naturally built in our brain takes a downtake. And if you're already experiencing depression and anxiety and some of these negative thoughts. It's very challenging to keep motivating and inspiring yourself to do better. So this is why we have standard settings. In addition to that, we have psychodynamic training where we explore unconscious conflicts and childhood experiences to gain

00:35:16.030 --> 00:35:32.640 Chef Nikko: insight into emotions and behaviors. We also have activity, tracking and training. This is using physical activities like Yoga or movement, such as calisthenics, to explore emotions and promote well-being

00:35:32.930 --> 00:35:41.640 Chef Nikko: plus techniques like strengthening relationships, emotional intelligence as well as emotional well-being and problem solving.

00:35:41.870 --> 00:35:43.909 Chef Nikko: These tactics are very important.

00:35:44.160 --> 00:35:51.139 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: Interesting and very deep. So let's let me ask you, what are some of the biggest misconceptions about Psilocybin?

00:35:51.280 --> 00:36:06.760 Chef Nikko: Oh, gosh, yeah, that's a good one. Okay, so let me just give 5 myths about psilocybin. So let's say, okay, myth. One psilocybin. It's dangerous and addictive.

00:36:07.260 --> 00:36:18.529 Chef Nikko: and that is far from the case. We can almost say that anything taken outside of its normal amount is not good for you. So.

00:36:18.530 --> 00:36:19.170 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: Cool.

00:36:19.620 --> 00:36:20.980 Chef Nikko: That just covers that.

00:36:21.320 --> 00:36:25.209 Chef Nikko: But as far as being addictive, definitely not the case. So

00:36:25.570 --> 00:36:32.849 Chef Nikko: myth 2 psilocybin assisted. Psychotherapy is just for new age fads.

00:36:33.120 --> 00:36:48.219 Chef Nikko: But they were doing this pap in the seventies. And and let's just cover what pap is. That's just the shortened version of Psilocybin assisted psychotherapy. This has been going on for about maybe

00:36:48.370 --> 00:37:02.539 Chef Nikko: maybe 5 to 6 decades or longer. So this is definitely not a new age fad. So next to that one. And now, myth, 3. Psilocybin assisted psychotherapy is not supported by science.

00:37:02.540 --> 00:37:20.480 Chef Nikko: This entire conversation has been supported by science, so next to that one myth for psilocybin assisted. Psychotherapy is a quick fix solution, and that is far from true. With a board certified professional

00:37:21.190 --> 00:37:40.300 Chef Nikko: partnering with somebody within psilocybin, you will definitely get at minimum, a midterm effect that is going to a long term effect. It will never be a quick fix as long as you have that board certified professional positioning you to win. And then myth. 5

00:37:40.440 --> 00:37:46.670 Chef Nikko: psilocybin assisted. Psychotherapy is only for spiritually inclined people.

00:37:46.960 --> 00:38:10.380 Chef Nikko: not true, as psilocybin rewires the brain reward system, and that's usually hijacked by addiction. So going back to myth one, if psilocybin was addictive, it can't be something that undoes addiction. So right there, myth one and myth. 5. They literally clear each other up. So

00:38:10.830 --> 00:38:16.259 Chef Nikko: this. And and when you have this process from

00:38:16.400 --> 00:38:39.999 Chef Nikko: psilocybin, it is great for treating alcohol. Use disorder all the way to opioid addiction, and that is best done with. Pat and Pap and Pat stands for Psilocybin assisted therapy, and pap is Psilocybin assisted psychotherapy, and there we go.

00:38:40.610 --> 00:39:01.449 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: In talking about individualized and personalized medicine. I've talked to several people that one shot. They're good for 6 months. Others need like little boosters. Right? So again, working with the professional, you want to suss that out. So let's talk about. Let's see, what should people know about psilocybin before considering it for their own mental or emotional well-being.

00:39:02.640 --> 00:39:03.520 Chef Nikko: Well.

00:39:04.040 --> 00:39:17.600 Chef Nikko: good question. 1st thing, bad trips can greatly affect emotional well-being. And how this happens is that that person or those people did not set the set.

00:39:17.660 --> 00:39:41.469 Chef Nikko: That's extremely important to understand when all the windows and doors open in your mind, because that's what psilocybin does best. It opens everything for you to journey and explore the abundance of what you are, and sometimes because you're a journey and exploring the abundance you bump into a few things if you have not set the environment

00:39:41.870 --> 00:39:45.929 Chef Nikko: and set your mind for a growth mindset. Second.

00:39:46.120 --> 00:39:50.880 Chef Nikko: experts do know that psilocybin raises blood pressure

00:39:51.010 --> 00:39:57.810 Chef Nikko: and and heart rate. So if you're experiencing any of that.

00:39:58.800 --> 00:40:09.440 Chef Nikko: we caution people with heart conditions, such as uncontrollable high blood pressure and heart disease. So people with these conditions.

00:40:09.440 --> 00:40:09.760 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: It's true.

00:40:09.760 --> 00:40:13.260 Chef Nikko: Are advised not to take magic mushrooms.

00:40:14.200 --> 00:40:18.169 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: So let's get into one of your favorite topic. Nutrition.

00:40:18.170 --> 00:40:18.620 Chef Nikko: Yeah.

00:40:18.620 --> 00:40:28.389 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: So with so much conflicting information out there. What are, what are the foundational principles of nutrition that everyone should follow for overall health and wellness.

00:40:28.670 --> 00:40:43.309 Chef Nikko: Okay? All right. So all right, let's dive into this. We spoke of Ptsd, which is post-traumatic stress disorder. Well, there is a trauma in our food, and it's based off of a disease model.

00:40:43.660 --> 00:41:10.409 Chef Nikko: My company is here to educate those with simple. Do it yourself in home solutions as well as flatten the curve of nutritional illiteracy and deficiencies that have been here for over 80 years, and these deficiencies is countrywide. I mean from coast to coast, and I feel the weight of this trauma as I have to keep lifting it off of me to remain present.

00:41:10.530 --> 00:41:16.729 Chef Nikko: because the harsh reality is that even in this very moment, as I speak.

00:41:17.420 --> 00:41:30.130 Chef Nikko: people are dying on my watch, due to the lack of nutritional transparency and the trauma and chaos that comes from mental, degenerative, synthetic chemistry in our food.

00:41:30.190 --> 00:41:52.120 Chef Nikko: Because of this tragic issue, it is my duty to shine light into the unspoken topic. Therefore I classify food trauma under a new acronym called Ptad, which stands for post-traumatic agricultural disorder, and that comes about

00:41:52.340 --> 00:42:09.439 Chef Nikko: from all the way back in the 19 forties. When Swanson TV dinner was 1st introduced to the American public, and it was the 1st time that the woman of the house didn't have to cook sounded pretty convenient, but it started changing the modalities of things, because now

00:42:09.530 --> 00:42:34.340 Chef Nikko: big corporations were now telling you what to eat in a container, telling you where your vegetables were, because they portioned it out where your proteins and your carbohydrates, and the only time that we had back in the 19 forties was to sit at the table and discuss and understand. How was your day? What did you do at school? How was work? They xed that out

00:42:34.450 --> 00:42:50.530 Chef Nikko: and turned you around from the dining room table and put you in front of a box that tells you a vision wasn't your vision. But this vision now allows certain advertisements and

00:42:52.240 --> 00:43:00.830 Chef Nikko: ways that they can promote inflammatory oils, and in them of these, in some of these commercials you would see

00:43:01.110 --> 00:43:23.330 Chef Nikko: a woman holding up a bottle that was not olive oil or coconut oil or grass fed butter. It was something called vegetable oil. It was something called canola oil, and these 2 oils, as convenient as they are, and how easy it is to manufacture them. It naturally creates inflammation in the human mind and the body.

00:43:23.910 --> 00:43:47.680 Chef Nikko: And now let's speed it up to the 19 eighties, when Reagan said it was completely okay to patent seeds and wrote that into the law. Now we have a company called Monsanto. They're no longer called Monsanto. Now they're now called Bear out of Puerto Rico. But either way, Monsanto took that and ran with it, and they said, Well, we're going to patent our seeds, and then we're going to take over the agricultural industry in America by

00:43:47.770 --> 00:44:03.529 Chef Nikko: planting our seeds in a small little plot of land right next to Farmer John's land that has maybe 275 acres. Now, when the trade winds during the springtime would show up, it would blow those seeds over into Farmer John's land.

00:44:03.800 --> 00:44:10.919 Chef Nikko: Monsanto would sit back until it's time to test Farmer John's soil, and then they would knock on his door and say, sir.

00:44:11.160 --> 00:44:23.650 Chef Nikko: you have a great farm here, but you know we just tested your soil, and we found out that our seeds are there, and, sir, we never gave you permission to grow our seeds. So you know what that means. We're going to take your farm

00:44:23.730 --> 00:44:47.390 Chef Nikko: now. Farmer John's been around for 7, 8, 9 generations. He's like nonsense. I'll take you to court. What he didn't know is that some of the flip cards of some of these folks that were doing some of this legal stealing of land had worked their way all the way up to the Supreme Court level. So, even at the highest level of court, Farmer John ran into a firewall.

00:44:47.590 --> 00:45:09.210 Chef Nikko: Literally. He got grounded and pounded out of all of his money, and eventually had to submit his land. Monsanto did this for decades. Now they have the opportunity to do commercial farming and commercial farming is outside of the scope of what Booker T. Washington taught us all with agronomical science that we must plot

00:45:09.270 --> 00:45:24.889 Chef Nikko: rotate so that we do not lose the nutrients that is in the soil that allows fulvic minerals to be about and give us nutrition. Now, this, along with the synthetic ingredients that have been added into our food.

00:45:25.140 --> 00:45:37.919 Chef Nikko: causes this agricultural disorder by increasing Candida, which is a natural bacteria in our gut, but should only be at a very low 20% ratio.

00:45:38.120 --> 00:45:49.400 Chef Nikko: and all healthy guts are supposed to have an 80% good, 20% bad ratio when that changes and Candida is now 80% bad.

00:45:49.550 --> 00:46:06.209 Chef Nikko: 20% good. Candida goes right to the brain to the want category, and it literally forces another biohack on a negative level and forces you to consume more synthetic foods, because that's what the bacteria likes. And now.

00:46:06.210 --> 00:46:07.090 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: Going to stop the track

00:46:07.090 --> 00:46:11.719 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: to stop here. Chef Nico, we're going to go to break when we come back. We're going to talk about colors. So let's go to break.

00:46:11.720 --> 00:46:12.430 Chef Nikko: Gotcha.

00:47:49.890 --> 00:47:59.439 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: Welcome back to Talkradio dot Nyc. I'm your host, Gaetano Ardieri. So we're back with Chef Nico. So chef Nico. Talk to us a little bit about the 5 colors.

00:47:59.580 --> 00:48:05.430 Chef Nikko: Okay, so it's all about 5 colors.

00:48:05.600 --> 00:48:12.129 Chef Nikko: And I'll explain red, yellow, orange, green, and purple

00:48:12.320 --> 00:48:18.119 Chef Nikko: that can impact a very great level of mental health, mood, and energy.

00:48:18.780 --> 00:48:19.700 Chef Nikko: So

00:48:19.990 --> 00:48:36.479 Chef Nikko: by focusing on including these colors in your meals, each color represents a different nutrient, a different antioxidant, and health benefits, and the standard of eating. To live

00:48:36.970 --> 00:48:51.670 Chef Nikko: is to prioritize nutrition, energy, and overall well-being rather than indulging in food for pleasure or excess, and we kind of covered that a little bit before. So

00:48:51.970 --> 00:49:07.729 Chef Nikko: let's just understand real quick what these red, yellow, orange, green, and purple are. So 2 examples of red, red, apple, and red radish. Now we have yellow, yellow, pineapple, and ginger.

00:49:07.850 --> 00:49:21.560 Chef Nikko: then we have orange, orange pepper, and naturally an orange. Then we have green. Green is always the easiest for everybody, because it's it's always hyper fad, so we can just say.

00:49:22.106 --> 00:49:39.850 Chef Nikko: green Swiss chard and green cabbage. And now we have purple. Let's go outside of the box we have purple dragon fruit, and we have purple kohlrabi. And let's just add one more for for variety, purple Basil.

00:49:40.480 --> 00:49:41.940 Chef Nikko: These things

00:49:42.010 --> 00:50:11.080 Chef Nikko: are in vast numbers. I just covered 2 or 3 within the color strategy, but you will enjoy how your body will get that biohack as we spoke about by adding these real natural colors. Now we can find these synthetic colors everywhere. But once again, as I've expressed, you will have an adverse effect to that chemical. If you're not utilizing the real colors from plant-based electrical elements.

00:50:11.450 --> 00:50:19.800 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: I see. Excellent, that's interesting. And what are some of the what are some of the biggest myths about healthy eating that you wish more people would understand.

00:50:19.980 --> 00:50:28.889 Chef Nikko: Hmm, okay. So simple, healthy eating cannot be achieved without a good understanding of nutrition.

00:50:29.510 --> 00:50:32.570 Chef Nikko: because it is the foundation. For example.

00:50:34.450 --> 00:50:36.349 Chef Nikko: okay, when you make a home.

00:50:36.860 --> 00:50:41.240 Chef Nikko: you can't achieve that well-made home without a proper foundation.

00:50:41.550 --> 00:50:45.370 Chef Nikko: Well, that foundation is healthy eating

00:50:45.610 --> 00:50:49.320 Chef Nikko: as electrical whole foods when we're talking about nutrition.

00:50:49.550 --> 00:50:51.879 Chef Nikko: So in addition to that.

00:50:52.340 --> 00:51:09.760 Chef Nikko: oxidized, free sliced, or chopped foods in markets, I know it's convenient, and it aligns with our grab and go lifestyle. But realistically, all of that food is oxidized. That means that it is more voided of nutrients than not.

00:51:10.270 --> 00:51:13.250 Chef Nikko: So there's another one.

00:51:13.690 --> 00:51:31.009 Chef Nikko: Frozen foods and canned foods. They're completely voided of nutrition. All of the touching and manufacturing that took place in the warehouse, and, as well as the ingredients to preserve these foods, have voided it completely of nutrition.

00:51:32.130 --> 00:51:37.809 Chef Nikko: even though you open up a frozen bag of pineapples and you smell pineapples.

00:51:38.010 --> 00:51:46.290 Chef Nikko: That does not mean those are the Terpene profiles that come from pineapple. That doesn't mean that the nutrients is there. So finally.

00:51:46.330 --> 00:52:11.010 Chef Nikko: and one of my oh, my gosh! How are we doing this? Heating up food with microwaves will completely void all food of nutrients. Let me explain. This is a molecule. When this natural molecule goes into a microwave, the frequency waves that heat it up, cause the molecule to separate, it will never snap back.

00:52:11.120 --> 00:52:19.850 Chef Nikko: It will stay separated, voiding itself of nutrients every single time you heat up food with a microwave.

00:52:20.380 --> 00:52:31.780 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: Interesting. And you know in this world of ours the fast food and convenience, what practical steps can people take to create more balanced whole food based diet without feeling, overwhelmed.

00:52:32.370 --> 00:52:37.449 Chef Nikko: Okay, so let's highlight the 5 colors. Again.

00:52:38.330 --> 00:52:45.969 Chef Nikko: we already understand some of those colors. Let's put it at a 1% atomic habit, meaning that

00:52:46.140 --> 00:52:58.579 Chef Nikko: for an entire month you are picking a new color every day and consuming it, not going crazy. You don't have to eat hundreds of pounds of it just small

00:52:58.580 --> 00:53:22.299 Chef Nikko: dosages similar to how we were talking about micro dosing. So we do that for 30 days, and then we do that for another 30 days, which makes 60 days, and then we do that for another 30 days which makes 90 days. Now, the logic of this 1% atomic habit means, and everybody just say yes or no in your head. Does this mean that after 30 days of a 1% atomic habit.

00:53:22.490 --> 00:53:46.440 Chef Nikko: are you 30% better in health and wellness. And what would happen if we did that for another 30 days, are we or are we not 60% better in that level of health and wellness and forget about it if we do it for 90 days, would we or would we not be 90% better in a relationship with our plant-based electrical elements.

00:53:46.990 --> 00:53:52.460 Chef Nikko: That is a very important formula that will take you for the rest of your life.

00:53:52.480 --> 00:54:21.520 Chef Nikko: In addition to that, we have something called rosemary water, something every human can do. Let me explain. There are things called adaptogen herbs, and rosemary is one of them. There is others like holy Basil, and I'm going to do a quick little demo for you to understand this. Right here is Sorrel, but we're going to say that it's water, for right now we'll take the holy Basil, and we'll drop it into

00:54:22.320 --> 00:54:29.859 Chef Nikko: our water example. Now this holds for 24 h the properties of

00:54:30.210 --> 00:54:52.970 Chef Nikko: adaptogen herbs are antiviral, antibacterial, antidepressant, anti-inflammatory, and the balancing of every human hormone that happens per sip. And this is an amazing way to go about ingesting some of this food science, and then 3, rd for a deep dive in nutrition.

00:54:52.970 --> 00:55:14.409 Chef Nikko: Go get the book. The book is called Nutrition Fit, only the strong survive. It was published 3 weeks into the pandemic to allow everybody to understand. Simple, do it yourself at home solutions. And this will last humans for the next 100 years, because human biology isn't changing for the next 100 plus years.

00:55:15.050 --> 00:55:26.019 Gaetano Lardieri FUNGGUY: That's fantastic. Chef, Nico. There's so many more questions I could ask you. We only have another minute left. What is one thing you want people to know about private Chef Nico, and any last comments. And how do we get in touch with you?
