Noreen starts off by talking about her favorite day of the week: Tuesday! She is excited to spend another day talking to people she loves while her listeners tune in. Noreen talks about her experience both being a life coach and having a life coach. She then introduces her guest, Tavia Sharp who is a men’s stylist. Tavia talks about her experience growing up in Wilmington, Delaware, styling her parents for work while she was in elementary school, and wearing Z Cavaricci pants after school.
Tavia talks some more about styling men and what it entails: (hint) It isn’t just about their clothes. She helps them with their overall image and how they come across to other people. In an interesting turn of events, Noreen and Tavia go on Tinder and judge men based on their pictures. In the interest of fairness, Noreen also asks Tavia to judge her Tinder pictures. When it comes to social media, Tavia urges people to think about their clothing choices, smile, try to figure out an activity, include full body shots, and urges men to NOT wear sunglasses (at least not in every picture in your profile). It doesn’t build trust or credibility.
Noreen and Tavia discuss men’s fashion some more. Tavia reveals which men possess her favorite sense of style. She also talks about her clients and how she creates looks for them. She talks about creating looks for men in professional atmospheres, business casual looks, or even if they’re looking for advice on outfits for after work. They also talk about the snap judgements people make based on the way we present ourselves: our clothes are a part of our presentation. They speak for us.
Noreen asks Tavia how she would compare fashion from the last ten years to today. Her answer? People are way more interested in clothes that fit better. The ladies then begin talking about different ways people can dress better. Tavia asks listeners to be intentional with what they wear. Ask themselves if they’re promotable, investable, dateable? You should always be selling yourself. Additionally, Tavia has advice on what the most important piece of fashion men should invest in.
