Ellen starts off by talking about Poker and how its used on a daily basis every day. It is not a show on POKER or just for FEMALES. Today’s show focuses on FEAR. She talks about fear playing a part in everyone’s life. Ellen brings up fear leading you to make the wrong decisions. She tells a story about going to her boss who she didn’t really like. She asked if she will get the promotion but the boss told her she didn’t ask. She stresses the fact that if you don’t ask you don’t get. “No one will offer what you don’t ask for.” She talks about men being in power due to not being afraid to ask. She relates it to Poker about how a woman is intimidated by poker due to being scared. Ellen takes a caller Priya and Joan who welcomes her to the new show and being apart of the Talk Radio NYC family. Ellen asks them about there fear and how they dealt with it.
Ellen brings back Joan and Priya to talk about fear. Priya talks about dealing with fear every day and tells a story about making a product and it flopping and being scared that it will fail again. Ellen gives her advice on Priya’s story. Joan talks about meeting Ellen and playing poker and learning that when you scared of losing it will paralyze you to win. Joan talks about remembering how cocky she was and losing at the end due to fear and being scared. She also talks about going all in with her business now because of that lesson. Priya and Joan invited Ellen to be on their show.
Ellen gives the listener a statistic on negotiation within a job and how you could be losing a lot by not negotiating. She talks about picking your battles and compares it to poker because in poker you have different personalities. Ellen talks about her book ‘POKER WOMAN’, and a woman talking to her boss and noticing that the boss saw that she was motivated and that’s what go her a higher position in her job. She talks about also excepting NO’s when you do ask.
Ellen comes back with how you get over the fear. She talks about what woman can learn from men to overcome fear which is having confidence. Ellen gives examples of how at her events woman is cleaning at the end and men are running out the door so woman get stuck doing all the work due to saying yes. Ellen talks about being guilty of doing stupid things such as doing work that is not hers due to saying yes to everyone and not getting the credit for it.

Ellen tells the listener to practice to negotiate. She motivates people to ask about little things then ask about the bigger things as you go on.
