[EPISODE] Everywhere You Look!
On tonight’s show we will be discussing with Graphic Designers Robson Teles and Steven Redford from AG2 Digital the everyday interaction we all have with the “Design” that surround us. Robson, Steven and I will explore how design has become the universal language that unites cultures, boundaries and economies.
A bit closer to home they will indulge my fascination with their work as 2 dimensional graphic artist and my 3 dimensional world of Interior Design. Finally, a request to notice the designs around us and become involved with the Design Thinking as we all have a stake in our futures and the future of the world.
On this week’s episode, David and his guests Robson and Steven talk about graphic design and designing as a whole and it’s artistic values.
David opens the show talking about design mindfulness. He urges his audience to focus on things that are designed well and to notice and appreciate those things. After sharing some more thoughts on the beauty of design, David previews his guests, Robson Teles and Steven Redford from AG2 Digital.
David starts the segment asking Robson and Steven what is beauty to each of them. Robson goes first and talks about how he finds true beauty in symmetry and the balance of things. Next Steven talks about what he finds beautiful, and he traces it back to his childhood. He loves things that bring in light. David asks them how they see the world around them. Once again Robson leads and says that he sees the world through the eyes of a graphic designer, even though it may not be that different from the way everyone else sees the world. Steven, however, sees the world through companies and what he can do to help his clients. David breaks the conversation back to Hopson as he talks about graphic design as a whole and what it entails. Next they talk about how important a logo is and what it has to do for your company and how powerful a good one can be. Next Hopson and Steven talk about their origins and how they got into graphic design.
David opens the segment talking about his own branding and the process that went behind it and asked what Robson and Steven saw in him that lead to them creating his brand. They elaborate how they wanted to create a brand and a logo that represented what David wanted for his company and one that represented his audience. They talk about the positive effects of good design and how a well designed environment can welcome and relax people. David asks them about some of the concerns one may have with two dimensional versus three dimensional work and how they ensure that their work makes a lasting impression. Hopson goes on the detail how they just do their best to make the best work they can for each situation as it arises. David ends the segment thanking his guests for their time and previews a question and answer segment for the final segment.
They open the segment talking about some of the similarities between interior design and graphic design and how they have similar, if not the same goals. True design is meant to lead people’s eyes and grab their attention. Next they talk about the importance of colors in any kind of design and what colors people tend to favor. David thanks Robson and Steven for their time once again and ends the show.
