WHAT WILL THE AUDIENCE LEARN?

So...what is Abundance? Is it financial wealth? Is it akin to gratitude? Is it a sense that Life, even with the enormous challenges with which we deal, is in support of us? Is it a sense of freedom? Can abundance actually be a choice?

And how is teaching abundance different from the "prosperity gospel", of which I am not a fan?

Without all the woo-woo, how can we tap into limiting beliefs around money and financial freedom? What are some practical steps to change our abundance mindset?

Show Notes

Segment 1

Sandra welcomes international TEDx speaker and bestselling author, Elaine Starling. Elaine is also recognized for her video show and podcast, The Abundance Journey™. Sandra met Elaine through a mutual friend, Anita Adams. Both Elaine and Sandra have been guests on her podcasts and vice versa. Elaine also answers the question of what identity she leads with in her life. She calls herself an abundance ambassador and that embodying this is the identity she truly wants to portray. An ambassador, she says, is someone who opens doors for you, introduces you to opportunities you probably weren't aware of and makes most of them as well as learning in various ways. Elaine also explains the abundance paradox. She mentions that she had an incredible spiritual awakening. A key message she received is that everything is love even when we don't recognize it. Elaine says that we live a life of paradox, of contrast; eg: right/wrong, good/bad. The divine, she says, is love. In order for it to expand, they designed us to experience contrast all of the time. With this, we occasionally show up as love or more love in the moment. Giving a more practical example, Elaine says “you can’t steer a parked car.” The whole purpose of paradox is for you to pick a destination and take action towards it, therefore receiving more insight and opportunity. Elaine and Sandra discuss how we are all people with both great qualities and assets, yet people with different issues and faults. With both and everything else, we get the chance to grow and learn.

Segment 2

Elaine talks with Sandra about her career early on. She was in marketing and had her own advertising business. Elaine says that she loved her work but with this came very little to no down down and vacations. It became exhausting. With a great job, family and more, Elaine almost felt guilty wanting more, wanting something different. Elaine tells Sandra that a month later, on new year's day in 2004, she was on vacation with her husband and had a stroke. Elaine talks about feeling numb on the right side of her body and she never went unconscious. Though as soon as she went for a nap, she described it as being in a massive cloud. Elaine describes it as the cloud being a part of her and her being a part of it, talking to her. She heard it say to her “this is perfect”, referring to herself. This was where she got the message that she is perfect because of the faults and advantages in her life. That's what makes life amazing. Before her stroke, she was never a spiritual person. Elaine called this a near life experience instead of a near death experience. Coming back from her vacation, Elaine talks about taking time to make important decisions in her life.

Segment 3

Sandra talks with Elaine about abundance; is it a choice? Elaine mentions how it can be common for people to go about their day and enter a “self protection mode” as if everything is happening to us. When this happens it creates a poverty mindset. We tend to embrace for the worse. But if you focus on what you want to create and create an intention on how you want to feel and others to feel when they’re around you, you create an abundance mindset. She shares in of her favorite books, called Connected: The Surprising Power of Our Social Networks and How They Shape Our Lives. In the book, scientists Nicholas Christakis and James Fowler explain the power of social networks and our influence in each other's lives. Elaine explains how there are way more people than we believe that we have an influence over. The way you show up matters. You enjoy who you are and more shifts everything including the people around you. The three key components to think about to work with your mindset to create abundance include your intention (power of words and what you are feeling), attention (what you focus on; what is working), and action (taking action to bring what you want to experience). Sandra and Elaine also discuss the pushback with people who don't understand abundance in this form. Elain says that abundance doesn't start with money, it starts with you being the beautiful thing you are, showing up to make a difference and creating a rewarding experience for everyone. A doorway to abundance is gratitude.

Segment 4

Sandra announces that she will be taking a break from the show for the rest of February. She will be working on an exciting writing project. Elaine mentions the 5 steps to activating abundance; step 1 is gratitude (we are all connected), step 2 is to acknowledge something that you see in a different way or have learned something new, step 3 is to appreciate the difference these ideas and perspectives can make in your life, step 4 is to activate abundance by scheduling time or to assign a trigger to remind yourself to come to your intention and how you want to show up for yourself and others. Step 5 is to celebrate your progress. Elaine mentions a giveaway called 5 Steps for Online Abundance that you can find theabundancejourney.com. You can also connect with Elaine through her website and her email at elaine@theabundancejourney.com. Elaine Starling is also on Facebook, Linkedin, and Instagram. Her podcast, The Abundance Journey, is on all major podcast platforms. New episodes are released every Thursday. 00:00:19.600 --> 00:00:30.459 A few years ago I wrote and performed a solo show called the Edge of every day, which was an exploration of the rough edges and contradictions we all face and grapple with

00:00:30.770 --> 00:00:37.709 the show hit a nerve, and the relevance of the topic would only grow over time more than I could have foreseen.

00:00:38.590 --> 00:00:47.980 here we are, real talk with real people, sharing stories and perspectives that spark provocative invitations to leap out of what's safe

00:04:03.940 --> 00:04:06.070 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: Welcome, Elaine Starling!

00:04:06.270 --> 00:04:25.379 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: Hey, Sandra! It is so great to be here. It's awesome to spend time with you. You just rock. Oh, my Gosh! Thank you so much. Thank you for being on here. You just rock. Your energy is just so incredible and upbeat, and i'm very excited to share you with my audience.

00:04:25.610 --> 00:04:29.730 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: Thank you, not only because I want to share you, but I love

00:04:30.020 --> 00:04:40.090 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: your take on abundance, and I and I love your willingness to lean into all the edges around abundance. But before we go into that

00:04:40.610 --> 00:04:49.789 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: I want to, I always share with my listeners how I know my guests, and I don't know Elaine personally yet.

00:04:49.830 --> 00:04:56.409 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: but I mean we haven't met in person, but but we met through

00:04:56.530 --> 00:05:11.930 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: a friend, a mutual friend of ours, Anita Adams, whom I have met through doing this podcast as well, and you have been on Anita's wonderful podcast. The joyful journey! Shout out to Anita.

00:05:11.940 --> 00:05:29.709 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: Check out, Elaine on her show, and I have also been a guest on Anita's podcast, and she's been a guest on mine, and I think she's also been a guest on your podcast as well, right.

00:05:29.770 --> 00:05:37.779 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: and I rest assured our path will keep crossing, particularly since we are both growing these fantastic podcasts.

00:05:37.820 --> 00:05:46.169 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: getting our messages hopefully out into the world, sharing our voice in a bigger way in these very stressful and challenging times.

00:05:46.660 --> 00:05:55.510 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: But that's what you're here to negate, stressful and challenging. You're here. You're here to bring up a a better wisdom to that. But again.

00:05:56.010 --> 00:05:58.909 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: before we dive into that, I have another.

00:05:59.130 --> 00:06:02.689 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: The question I like to ask my guests.

00:06:03.990 --> 00:06:13.689 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: You know you've done a lot of things, all of my guests where many, many hats, and I know that you do as well. So I like to ask people with.

00:06:14.040 --> 00:06:25.870 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: and because of the different ways that they they move in the world and work in the world and share their voice in the world and in the ways that we're beginning to explore identity in a more

00:06:26.120 --> 00:06:31.190 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: interesting way in our society and culturally.

00:06:31.700 --> 00:06:36.699 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: what identity do you, Elaine Starling lead within your life.

00:06:37.910 --> 00:07:01.549 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: You know abundance. Ambassador really says it all for me, because I believe that an ambassador is someone who opens doors for you who introduces you to opportunities that are there, that you may not have been aware of. That helps you understand the customs and the rituals and the process and the experience, so that you can make the most out of every opportunity that is there for you, so truly

00:07:01.560 --> 00:07:14.439 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: doing my best to embody that abundance, Ambassador. That is the identity I truly want to portray in everything that I do.

00:07:14.610 --> 00:07:27.309 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: I mean you. You seem to be somebody that that's very great at facilitating. It's very good at paying attention to all of the tendrils, and making sure that they all of the threads are continuing to keep creating one

00:07:27.500 --> 00:07:28.590 patchwork.

00:07:29.060 --> 00:07:33.970 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: so I I I rest assured you've been an ambassador your whole life. I love that

00:07:36.360 --> 00:07:55.150 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: well, so as ambassador to paradox. Let's dive in. Let's go with our our title of our episode this evening. So tell me, what is the paradox of abundance? What is the abundance? Paradox? There is so much irony here. There is so much

00:07:55.160 --> 00:08:14.440 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: unusual things happening here, and I do have to give people just a tiny bit of background about where i'm coming from, because I did have this incredible spiritual awakening, and so I have a lot of information from the divine that I share, or God of your understanding. However, you choose to think of it, and one of the key messages that I received

00:08:14.450 --> 00:08:31.840 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: is that everything is love, absolutely everything. We could look at something and say it's a huge disaster. Covid killed millions of people, and from the divine perspective everything is love. We Don't recognize it as love, but the divine does now the divine created

00:08:32.820 --> 00:08:35.310 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: contrast problems.

00:08:35.419 --> 00:08:51.990 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: We live a life of contrast all the time, black and white, good and bad. Yes, no right. You want to paradise paradox every day. It's paradox, and that's deliberate in order for the divine to expand love and the divine to expand, because that's what the divine is is love.

00:08:52.040 --> 00:09:09.089 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: They needed us. They designed us to experience contrast and paradox all the time, because only by not believing that everything is love, can we occasionally decide to treat it as though it's love, even though we don't see the love in it right now.

00:09:09.100 --> 00:09:15.300 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: and show up as more love in the moment, and when we do that we actually expand the divine.

00:09:15.380 --> 00:09:33.609 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: So the key thing for people to understand you are in partnership with the divine. It's not like the divine's on high. Okay, i'm going to. I'm going to. I'm going to push back here. Go for it. A lot of my listeners. Don't want to hear about. We're just loving with the divine in this, and and many of them

00:09:33.700 --> 00:09:36.430 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: would want to hear more practical.

00:09:36.590 --> 00:09:41.019 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: A more practical way of talking about the paradox of of

00:09:41.380 --> 00:09:44.659 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: fine. The practical thing is.

00:09:44.720 --> 00:09:52.770 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: you can't steer apart car. So the whole purpose behind paradox behind. Contrast is to get you to pick a destination.

00:09:52.780 --> 00:10:13.809 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: Pick something you want, and start taking action towards it, because, as you'd start taking action, you're guided, and you receive more ideas, more insights, more opportunities, the more you share with people what your admission is and what you're trying to achieve. The more doors you open. People actually want you to be successful. That's counterintuitive.

00:10:13.820 --> 00:10:32.340 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: It is counterintuitive, but that's and you and I know that to be the universe, and you and I understand that as the divine. But there also has to be a practical application for for people who are not plugging into that mindset, if you will, which, of course, we're going to get to mindset later in the show.

00:10:32.390 --> 00:10:41.610 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: But yeah, so. And this this paradoxic. So the 2 being

00:10:41.690 --> 00:10:44.470 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: lack versus or or

00:10:44.650 --> 00:10:47.289 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: in the love lingo, fear.

00:10:47.360 --> 00:10:51.100 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: abundance, slash, love.

00:10:51.170 --> 00:10:51.850 Yeah.

00:10:52.370 --> 00:10:53.960 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: So

00:10:54.640 --> 00:10:55.420 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: so

00:10:56.150 --> 00:11:01.049 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: in your estimation is, would you consider

00:11:02.420 --> 00:11:05.469 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: the shadow side of abundance to be

00:11:05.620 --> 00:11:06.990 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: the poverty

00:11:07.480 --> 00:11:08.700 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: understanding

00:11:09.110 --> 00:11:24.590 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: absolutely? And 5. Personally, what I believe is that the shift truly is a lot of self, doubt and self-judgment and self. Chastisement is the poverty side of things. When you don't, believe in yourself, and you resist.

00:11:24.710 --> 00:11:43.600 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: and and we tend to cocoon, and we shrink down, and we minimize ourselves when we have all this self, doubt and self loathing. Frankly, instead, the contrast of self love, self acceptance, self appreciation. It's not like yay. It's all about me. I'm the best thing, since vice spread. No, no, no, it's

00:11:43.690 --> 00:12:02.779 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: accepting yourself as you are, because you are designed with your skills, abilities, talents, expertise interests, preferences as well as your fault, your foibles, your hot buttons, your issues all of that combines to make you a really interesting fun. Dynamic person.

00:12:02.960 --> 00:12:10.430 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: If you didn't have both, there'd be nowhere for you to go no way for you to grow. We are complex people, very

00:12:10.630 --> 00:12:16.739 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: So instead of beating yourself up over perceived limitations within.

00:12:16.860 --> 00:12:32.690 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: Stop and look at that and go, hey! That's actually something that makes me unique and valuable. How does this serve me? What can I appreciate about this aspect of who I am and that can shift things? Yeah, how do I? How do I go into?

00:12:32.740 --> 00:12:41.770 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: You know? I mean the Golden Shadow is those. You know, the lovely parts of ourselves that that that we don't want to look at, but but there

00:12:41.960 --> 00:12:46.560 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: I there's so much to mine in the shadow around.

00:12:48.420 --> 00:13:05.899 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: looking away from from deserving, looking away from being open to receiving. And I think you know that's the self love that you've talked about it all stems from that all of the work stems from that.

00:13:06.120 --> 00:13:07.120 So

00:13:07.330 --> 00:13:18.740 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: it does. And you know I had a really interesting experience around words, and I think words are one of the most revealing things that we use, that we often don't pay attention to.

00:13:18.820 --> 00:13:29.460 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: and I wanted an opportunity to really receive better, and people kept saying, Well just allow allow it. It was allowing like crazy, and nothing was happening. So finally i'm like.

00:13:29.530 --> 00:13:42.770 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: Why, isn't this allowing thing working for me and I I realized the image that comes to mind when I think of the word allow, I see myself behind a door with a chain on the door, and i'm peeking out the door, anxious

00:13:42.780 --> 00:13:51.629 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: about what's on the other side the opportunities on the other side, I thought, okay, Obviously, allowing is not the word for me, because I want a different word. One that's very open.

00:13:51.660 --> 00:13:56.949 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: Yes, and accepting. And finally I realized welcoming welcome

00:13:57.100 --> 00:14:16.449 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: shifts everything. There's an energetic shift You can feel how closed allowing is, and how open the welcoming is for you, I mean for me No, honestly, and and I love that, though at Lane I love that that notion of the power of words, but you speak about the intention behind them.

00:14:16.460 --> 00:14:22.520 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: and you also speak to with you the story you just shared. It speaks to

00:14:23.520 --> 00:14:36.090 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: everyone needs to focus like. We all have to find what works for us, and what opens those doors, and it's not the same. It's not a. It's an overall

00:14:36.190 --> 00:14:44.060 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: recipe, but each tendril is yours to unlock, and yours to

00:14:44.710 --> 00:15:01.759 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: find and come to terms with. I love that allowing versus welcoming, it's beautiful, and the the intention behind our word choices excellent place for us to take a break, Elaine, and when we come back we are going to dive in folks to

00:15:02.410 --> 00:15:06.020 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: this unusual health situation that really changed

00:15:06.070 --> 00:15:13.019 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: the course of the lane's life when we come back with Elaine Sterling on the edge of every day. Stay tuned.

00:16:51.570 --> 00:16:57.589 you're listening to talk radio, Nyc: uplift, educate and power.

00:16:58.200 --> 00:16:59.400 The

00:17:11.800 --> 00:17:13.530 chipping around

00:17:13.829 --> 00:17:15.839 keep my brain to the ground.

00:17:15.920 --> 00:17:20.079 These are the days it never

00:17:20.940 --> 00:17:22.829 but home

00:17:23.980 --> 00:17:25.390 on the edge

00:17:25.730 --> 00:17:26.569 every day.

00:17:27.089 --> 00:17:37.059 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: and we are back with Elen Starling ready to dive into hearing about this extraordinary awakening.

00:17:37.410 --> 00:17:41.110 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: So tell us that story. Wait before we do it.

00:17:41.780 --> 00:17:44.799 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: I want to. I want to set the stage a little.

00:17:45.280 --> 00:17:55.829 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: So you were your life, you prior to what you're doing now. You were in addition to what you're doing now. You were because

00:17:55.880 --> 00:18:07.540 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: it sounds to me like you still do this work. You had a marketing company, and you're an entrepreneur. And this was this your work Sort of your whole life? Were you in marketing.

00:18:07.760 --> 00:18:36.669 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: I was. I had my own advertising business, and I worked with fortune, 500 companies, primarily technology companies in the San Francisco Bay area, and it was very labor intensive. It was really intense, like a pressure cooker, right during the.com boom and beyond. And I loved it. But it was also one of those things where forget about taking vacations and having downtime. You're on 24, 7, 3, 65, and it was getting really exhausting.

00:18:36.820 --> 00:18:57.659 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: and I actually spoke with my husband in early December around my birthday, and said, You know, in a lot of ways I feel guilty that I want something more that I want something different in my life, because i'm so blessed with having a thriving business with having a great husband. You know there's a lot of things in my life. I'm grateful for. In fact, if I got hit by a bus next week I could die happy.

00:18:58.170 --> 00:18:59.209 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: I said that

00:18:59.440 --> 00:19:05.050 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: so a month later we're on vacation in New Zealand. It's New Year's Day, 2,005.

00:19:05.370 --> 00:19:08.240 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: We've had breakfast. We're poking around the shops.

00:19:08.400 --> 00:19:09.659 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: and I have a stroke

00:19:10.440 --> 00:19:15.740 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: the right arm. My right arm started to go. Num, and the right side of my face started to go. Numb

00:19:15.990 --> 00:19:17.869 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: classic symptoms of a stroke.

00:19:17.930 --> 00:19:21.849 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: So my husband walked me to a little medical center. They gave me an aspirin

00:19:21.920 --> 00:19:31.260 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: and asked me to describe the picture on the wall, and I knew exactly what they said, and I knew what the picture was, but the words that came out of my mouth made no sense at all.

00:19:31.630 --> 00:19:34.700 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: I felt great. I felt awesome.

00:19:34.750 --> 00:19:45.639 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: I felt like sounding warning kind of lazy, snoozey sleeping in. I just wanted to take a nap. I didn't feel bad at all. I do. My, you never went out.

00:19:45.760 --> 00:19:46.510 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: No.

00:19:46.960 --> 00:20:05.610 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: no! And so they finally. It was a very unusual experience, because it was not your normal, everyday, ordinary year to have experience at all. So what happened? I finally got them to let me relax and take a nap, and as soon as I did

00:20:05.620 --> 00:20:12.049 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: I felt like I was in this massive cloud, and I was. The cloud was part of me.

00:20:12.700 --> 00:20:14.570 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: and it was sentient.

00:20:14.790 --> 00:20:27.879 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: and it started talking to me, and it wasn't like hearing a voice. It was like in my body 360 degrees everything all at once, and I heard this is perfect, and I knew it was talking about me, and I i'm like what

00:20:28.180 --> 00:20:33.219 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: I don't speak multiple languages. I haven't climbed Mount ever i'm not all that.

00:20:33.370 --> 00:20:43.830 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: And that's when I got that message. You know you're perfect because of the faults and the advantages that you have. We wanted the entire thing. That's what makes it so good

00:20:43.980 --> 00:20:51.389 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: that makes it spicy and juicy. You can't. You can't no joy without knowing grief

00:20:51.460 --> 00:21:00.270 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: absolutely, and and I can expand this expand the universe if you don't know both. But anyway, we so you

00:21:00.450 --> 00:21:09.479 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: so there was no physical. You didn't like go out of things, and you didn't like your

00:21:09.600 --> 00:21:10.470 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: I was.

00:21:11.130 --> 00:21:22.529 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: I was sleeping slash unconscious. Yes, several hours. You'd never called it in near death experience into my research. But I was like, she said, in your experience

00:21:22.630 --> 00:21:29.369 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: I think of it as a near life experience.

00:21:29.430 --> 00:21:48.919 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: It broke me up in a totally different way. My life was completely different Until I had this conversation with the divine. I didn't realize that was what was happening at first, but then I realized that every time i'd ask a question just it would come to mind. The answer would be instantly there in my body, past, present, future, 360 degrees colors. We can't see everything.

00:21:49.560 --> 00:21:50.730 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: And then

00:21:51.170 --> 00:21:52.040 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: I

00:21:52.330 --> 00:21:56.019 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: I heard this question from the divine. Are you sure you're done?

00:21:56.560 --> 00:22:08.379 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: I was like, No, I'm. Halfway through my vacation. We're loving it. So. New Zealand is awesome. You should visit oh, yeah, right. You know this part right? And and I got this. No, you said you were done thrashing.

00:22:08.460 --> 00:22:11.610 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: You said it would be fine for you to go.

00:22:11.880 --> 00:22:16.729 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: If you're sure you're done, we'll use that ectoplasm for something else. Are you sure you're done?

00:22:17.090 --> 00:22:29.279 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: And I was like No, I'm, I'm close to something big here, and I don't have all the answers, but I want to keep going, and i'm i'm and I got this message great. Get back and get busy.

00:22:29.410 --> 00:22:31.440 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: and I came out of a stroke like that.

00:22:31.590 --> 00:22:35.019 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: No damage at all, no damage.

00:22:35.200 --> 00:23:01.320 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: And honestly, when the divine wants to have a conversation with you trust me the mind is going to have a conversation with you. Amen. Amen. Now now this is phenomenal, and i'm switching gears, not because I don't want to pick it right back up here. But we're Have you through your life? Then someone who was felt connected to spirit were you, you know, a a spiritual, curious person. Your whole life.

00:23:01.580 --> 00:23:02.330 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: Yeah.

00:23:02.490 --> 00:23:06.340 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: Before the stroke I didn't woo, let alone woo.

00:23:06.670 --> 00:23:16.890 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: My parents were both math professors and and very factual people. They both wrote poetry, but they were not into the spiritual world and all of that.

00:23:17.250 --> 00:23:25.959 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: And so it was a real adjustment period, because I came back, and i'm like, did that really happen?

00:23:26.120 --> 00:23:34.099 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: And I kept getting messages. And yeah, it was really clear. Yeah, that really happened. And yeah, you really do have an assignment here.

00:23:34.190 --> 00:23:53.780 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: You really do have to figure this out, and I came back, and I was very blessed to have a flexible schedule, and I also had incredible parents and in laws, and they all 4 of them needed help with end of life issues over a 10 year period after my stroke. That's what I spit. Split my time between my business and helping parents

00:23:53.790 --> 00:23:59.129 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: with end of life issues. It's the biggest blessing I've ever had to be able to spend that much quality time.

00:23:59.170 --> 00:24:03.839 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: I've done that with my parents as well. It really is, indeed.

00:24:03.990 --> 00:24:06.690 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: but it also gave you you time

00:24:06.980 --> 00:24:15.360 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: to really integrate all the information energetically, cellularly, and to really make some.

00:24:15.390 --> 00:24:30.149 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: you know, make make some decisions about how you want to disseminate this information in the world. You know. Practice it on on your family, practice it on. Well, you know, I went through all of the phases that everybody goes through. My first phase was hell. No.

00:24:30.170 --> 00:24:33.679 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: I don't think so. What did that look like?

00:24:33.830 --> 00:24:34.780 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: I,

00:24:35.200 --> 00:24:41.130 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: religious leader. I'm not some guru. There's no

00:24:41.220 --> 00:24:48.670 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: it was not depression. It was like a terrible 2, you know. Terrible 2 year old to to toddler, just like No, no.

00:24:48.750 --> 00:25:02.889 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: yeah. My whole that with your family. How do you know what I didn't? I didn't talk about it at all for 3 years. I never told them that I had this incredible conversation because there were so many issues with family members who were going through end of life.

00:25:02.910 --> 00:25:08.220 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: I felt like that would be really selfish for me to say, oh, but I happen to have this awesome conversation.

00:25:08.430 --> 00:25:12.199 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: Yeah, so I didn't bring it up for 3 years my husband had no idea.

00:25:12.430 --> 00:25:15.140 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: And then, when I finally started talking about it, people like.

00:25:16.200 --> 00:25:18.220 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: what? Yeah.

00:25:19.950 --> 00:25:24.730 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: you didn't tell your own husband. Wow! So when you told him how what happened

00:25:26.740 --> 00:25:30.499 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: to this day he's like, I know you really believe this.

00:25:30.920 --> 00:25:32.899 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: and it's really helping you.

00:25:33.290 --> 00:25:36.020 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: And i'm really glad that it really helps you.

00:25:36.450 --> 00:25:39.550 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: Yeah, and it helps other people. He doesn't

00:25:39.980 --> 00:25:52.110 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: own it for himself. And frankly, I always wanted to be with someone who would be an incredible partner and kind of leader, and I didn't think of it as a spiritual leader. But I realized. Now

00:25:52.120 --> 00:26:04.909 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: I did want somebody who was very spiritually advanced. And the ironic thing is he's so spiritually advanced he doesn't know he's spiritually advanced, and he looks at me going through my baby steps. He's like, yeah, whatever.

00:26:06.780 --> 00:26:14.810 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: Well, again to your point, it's it's different lingo, and I love that. And I also love that it i'm sure that it

00:26:15.080 --> 00:26:25.549 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: it grounds you and helps you languaging with. You know, when you're in a room full of people that can understand that that that relate to and

00:26:25.560 --> 00:26:46.769 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: use that languaging that you know I had to download from spirit, and you know i'm down with that. But I want it. I want some of my listeners who aren't to to understand that in a different way from a scientific angle from a. You know that it's that. That again to use your word which I love. It's not Loo, and it's not the prosperity

00:26:46.780 --> 00:26:49.990 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: Gospel, and it is.

00:26:50.040 --> 00:26:50.910 you know

00:26:52.020 --> 00:27:06.180 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: you know I've forgotten what it's called. But there is a proven scientific thing that happens. It's like when you come across a new word for the first time, and you've never heard this word before. But then, everywhere you look, there's the same silly word.

00:27:06.310 --> 00:27:13.889 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: It's like, or car like you're interested in the car, and then all of a sudden. You see the same car everywhere you go

00:27:14.060 --> 00:27:25.159 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: that happens in our lives. So when we make a commitment, this is what I want to achieve. I want to write a New York Times bestselling book, and this is what I'm all about. And you're really committed to that

00:27:25.170 --> 00:27:41.679 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: All of a sudden you start talking to people who have written a New York Times best selling book. You find people who are editors of New York Times best selling books. You find courses on how to write a New York Times best selling book, you know. It starts to show up in your awareness because you're open to receiving it.

00:27:41.720 --> 00:28:01.170 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: and it really is your level of commitment, because you will also be tested. People who know you will go. Oh, come on you a New York Times and all that is all that is, is their desire to ensure your level of commitment.

00:28:01.440 --> 00:28:05.859 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: Because if you're not committed to your own dream, you're never going to realize it.

00:30:17.900 --> 00:30:19.620 chipping around

00:30:19.940 --> 00:30:21.949 keep my brain to the ground.

00:30:22.030 --> 00:30:26.140 These are the days it never.

00:30:27.060 --> 00:30:28.930 but it

00:30:30.070 --> 00:30:35.130 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: on the edge of every day. We are back with Elaine Starling.

00:30:35.260 --> 00:30:41.449 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: and we're going to pick it up on her fantastic Tedx Talk

00:30:41.930 --> 00:30:48.549 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: can abundance is a choice, so tell us how is abundance a choice?

00:30:48.890 --> 00:31:03.580 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: You know. It's very interesting. I noticed a a tendency that we have when we just kind of need your through our day. It's just responding to whatever is happening in the day. It's very easy to end up in the self protection mode.

00:31:03.590 --> 00:31:16.420 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: because we feel like everything's an attack. Everything is happening to us, and when we get into that self protection that creates a poverty mindset, it's a poverty outlook.

00:31:16.430 --> 00:31:24.509 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: When you're constantly bracing for the worst and expecting the worst. That's what you notice. That's what your intention is. Yes.

00:31:24.610 --> 00:31:26.470 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: and instead.

00:31:26.530 --> 00:31:36.839 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: when you can focus on what you want to create. You have a solid intention of how you want to feel, and how you want others to feel when they hang out with you

00:31:37.360 --> 00:31:50.229 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: that intention, and then focusing on things that are lining up that support that intention. That's an abundance mindset, because, honestly, people want to feel good surprise surprise. They really want to

00:31:50.240 --> 00:32:06.610 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: feel good, and when you feel good there's a much higher likelihood that they will feel good. Can I share one of my absolute favorite books with you. Is that okay? Please, please, please. Yeah. Great resource, everybody. I didn't bring it with me. But oh, this is a fabulous book. It's called, connected

00:32:06.620 --> 00:32:13.439 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: the surprising Power of our Social Networks, and how they shape our lives connected. Okay.

00:32:13.500 --> 00:32:23.490 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: awesome Book: awesome book. And in this book these guys are social scientists is Nicholas Kristakis and James Fowler are the 2 authors, and they're both college

00:32:23.530 --> 00:32:39.059 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: level professors, and they did a ton of research on our social networks, and how connected we are, and what kind of an impact our social networks have on us. And they discovered that we have influence over people who are 3 levels away from us.

00:32:39.070 --> 00:32:45.010 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: So if you imagine a bull's eye where you're at the center of the bull's eye, you have influence over your friends

00:32:46.410 --> 00:32:50.620 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: friends, 3 levels away from you, and I thought, Wow!

00:32:51.220 --> 00:32:58.589 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: That's surprising. I would expect to, maybe have some influence over my friends, and maybe they would tell some of their friends about me, but 3 levels away.

00:32:58.620 --> 00:33:08.769 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: That that was a shocker, I thought. Okay, so how significant is that like how many people are we talking about? So I asked Dr. Google, and she found a great

00:33:08.790 --> 00:33:27.419 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: published article in the New York Times citing some recent research that says the average American knows about 600 people, and I thought, man, that's a lot of people. I don't think there's a way in the world. I know 600 people. I spoke to some of my friends, and they said, oh, no, you know much closer to a 1,000 people. I thought, okay, I didn't do the math.

00:33:27.430 --> 00:33:37.219 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: I'm: going to pick their number. Just see what happens. Okay. So if you're back at that bullseye, and you're in the center of the bull's side. That first ring around you is the 600 people that you know.

00:33:37.360 --> 00:33:42.490 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: Well, every single one of those 600 people knows 600 people that's 360,000 people.

00:33:42.710 --> 00:33:49.479 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: and every single one of those 360,000 people. No, 600 people. That's 217 millionpeople.

00:33:49.530 --> 00:34:05.010 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: So you have influence every single thing you think, feel, say, or do, according to these social scientists ripples out to 270,360,600people. Everything you think, feel, say, or do. Now it gets freaky

00:34:05.200 --> 00:34:10.069 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: on page 54 of the hard copy of the book I would have brought it with me, but I forgot to.

00:34:10.130 --> 00:34:21.280 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: It turns out that when you're having a good day, those people in the first ring that 600 people that, you know, are 15% more likely to have a good day just because you are having a good day.

00:34:21.560 --> 00:34:30.000 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: and that 260,000 people in your second ring are 10% more likely to have a good day just because you're having a good day.

00:34:30.130 --> 00:34:35.410 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: and those 270 millionpeople that you're convinced there's no way in the world You impact them.

00:34:35.429 --> 00:34:42.810 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: They're 6% more likely to have a good day just because you are having a good day. So how you show up

00:34:42.850 --> 00:34:51.779 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: matters it makes a difference. You enjoying who you are, and enjoying your life and looking for what's working in your life

00:34:51.810 --> 00:35:00.669 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: shifts everything not just for you. For 270,000,003 or 60,600 people who go with you everywhere you go.

00:35:01.410 --> 00:35:20.789 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: So the focus of what which I loved about your is obviously mindset and and and this is part of it is understanding that that you have a positive influence on other people, but a and and yes, of course, and and people need to understand that

00:35:20.800 --> 00:35:24.100 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: daily in each of their decisions, because I know

00:35:24.660 --> 00:35:44.319 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: when i'm feeling down. I don't think at all about that, but I know that when I walk in the room with bad energy I I feel everything going down and people noticing. I mean, you know it's it's powerful that way. But let's focus back on on the individual. What can what are some of the things that people can do

00:35:44.340 --> 00:35:50.740 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: to to create, to focus in on this positive. And this is what I also love, you know.

00:35:51.630 --> 00:36:06.309 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: and talk to me about also about People's push back around abundance, because when sometimes, when I hear people going abundance in abundance, and it makes me think of the prosperity Gospel that that is about

00:36:06.320 --> 00:36:20.729 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: there. There's a about feels like about self and materialism and and and and I had a real problem with the secret, the movie, the secret. For this, all of these reasons. When it came out everyone was in love with it. And I thought this.

00:36:20.930 --> 00:36:21.609 Hmm.

00:36:21.650 --> 00:36:25.960 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: This is not abundance.

00:36:26.050 --> 00:36:40.270 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: This is fake People are not giving, you know. They're not telling the quantum understanding it's their They're tipping the going to the tip of the iceberg. So, anyway, talk to me about, push back around abundance, and how this

00:36:40.300 --> 00:36:42.930 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: people can work with their mindset

00:36:43.020 --> 00:36:55.170 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: absolutely. Well, there are 3 key components to think about. The first one is your intention. That's how you want to feel and how you want to show up how. So that other people feel the same thing that you feel.

00:36:55.240 --> 00:37:05.399 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: That's your intention. The second component, then power of words, intention, little bit different understanding for some people of that.

00:37:05.600 --> 00:37:11.179 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: So intention is the first step. Attention. What you put your focus on is the second step.

00:37:11.200 --> 00:37:18.850 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: Yeah, You can focus on all the things that are not working and do not line up with your intention, and you can sabotage yourself really fast.

00:37:19.070 --> 00:37:30.359 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: or you can start to look for those tiny glimmers, those tiny inklings, the little bizarre things that happen like we were talking about seeing the car everywhere all of a sudden. Now that you've noticed.

00:37:31.130 --> 00:37:45.300 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: so start noticing what's lining up with your intention what supporting your intention, and then the third component is action. You have to take action towards your intention to being what you want to experience.

00:37:45.330 --> 00:37:52.620 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: We were talking about a New York Times bestseller book. You can't sit there on the couch eating bomb bonds and expect the book to read itself.

00:37:52.760 --> 00:38:01.799 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: You have to start coming up with an outline and brainstorming and writing stories. And yeah.

00:38:02.000 --> 00:38:02.970 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: yeah.

00:38:03.220 --> 00:38:16.559 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: yeah, absolutely. It's a process. And when you just move with hope move with the desire to see things materialize. I call it yeah, baby energy.

00:38:16.570 --> 00:38:27.270 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: Because if you think about anything that you want to experience in your life. I don't care what it is. A great house, a great car, a great lover, a great whatever. Anything that you want in your life

00:38:27.300 --> 00:38:30.669 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: is because you think it will make you feel better?

00:38:31.070 --> 00:38:34.100 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: So if it's all about how you want to feel.

00:38:34.850 --> 00:38:37.420 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: Start by feeling that

00:38:37.700 --> 00:38:54.589 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: Don't wait for the thing or the people or the experience feel it. Now feel this. Yeah, baby energy. This is I can't wait. This is exciting. This is it inspiring? I'm so curious. I'm so interested. I'm leaning in, and i'm gonna glean all the wonderful things that are here for me.

00:38:54.600 --> 00:39:13.290 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: I don't have to control anything. I don't have to have specific expectations. I'm just looking for things that line up with my intention that show me. I'm on the right track. That's all i'm doing, and i'm taking action. I'm listening for little baby steps I can take that will get me closer to my intention that I want to create.

00:39:13.310 --> 00:39:16.690 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: That's all you have to do, and when you show up that way

00:39:16.780 --> 00:39:23.800 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: people love it, they're just so excited to connect with you and support you and encourage honestly it doesn't matter what you're doing.

00:39:24.690 --> 00:39:28.489 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: because you you have the focus. You have that positive.

00:39:28.550 --> 00:39:32.509 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: generous generosity of spirit

00:39:32.520 --> 00:39:50.610 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: that is so aligned with, and gratitude that is so aligned with abundance, generosity of of spirit, and gratitude, that's aligned with abundance. So what do people, when when you tell people what it this is? What I think abundance is, and they push back on you. What what does that look like?

00:39:51.420 --> 00:39:54.440 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: You know a lot of people are. It's all about the money

00:39:54.980 --> 00:40:05.949 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: that's the prosperity gospel to me. Where's the money? Show me the money. I want the money yesterday, and if there isn't money, then it's not. It's an abundance, a lot of money.

00:40:06.290 --> 00:40:11.539 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: What is that is only one form of abundance. In fact, it's the tip of the tail at the end of the dog.

00:40:11.710 --> 00:40:19.379 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: because a lot of people make this mistake, and I just want to show what it looks like. So the mistake is, Show me the revenue. The money comes first.

00:40:19.460 --> 00:40:28.079 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: and once the revenue is there, then my reputation is going to be made. I'm going to be taking orders faster than you know. They're coming in faster than I can take them.

00:40:28.170 --> 00:40:32.660 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: Everybody is going to know about me. Everybody is going to know what i'm up to, because the revenue is like out the roof.

00:40:33.020 --> 00:40:51.049 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: and once my reven my reputation is made, I'm gonna get have relationships with people I've admired for years. I mean me and Oprah B F. Apps right speed dial every day, and then you push them to say, Well, what else could you have? What else could you experience? What else would be there for you. Finally.

00:40:51.110 --> 00:40:52.860 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: Finally they say, Well.

00:40:53.860 --> 00:40:55.089 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: I guess

00:40:55.290 --> 00:40:56.910 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: if I'm really lucky.

00:40:57.170 --> 00:40:59.560 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: I might have a few brief moments

00:40:59.760 --> 00:41:02.750 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: of incredibly rewarding experiences

00:41:02.870 --> 00:41:05.920 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: when I show up with my own and 8 gifts.

00:41:05.990 --> 00:41:08.209 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: and I make a difference in the world.

00:41:08.400 --> 00:41:17.069 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: and those few seconds are when I get to feel fulfilled and whole, but I have to earn him first, and it has to start with the money.

00:41:17.210 --> 00:41:23.160 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: and that's the biggest mistake people make because they're going about it backwards. It starts

00:41:23.170 --> 00:41:41.000 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: with a rewarding experience with you, being the beautiful thing that you are, and showing up to make a difference and create a rewarding experience for others. Because guess what people want a relationship with you because of the rewarding experience you create. Because once you have those relationships.

00:41:41.010 --> 00:42:05.090 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: they're the ones who own your reputation. They'll tell everybody who you are being for them. You on your standards. You don't own your reputation, and once you're rewarding experiences there, the relationships are there. The reputation is there. The revenue is a by product. It's unavoidable. You can't prevent revenue and money when you are showing up whole and full as your beautiful self.

00:42:05.510 --> 00:42:07.200 Oh, and then

00:42:07.310 --> 00:42:14.220 I love your vulnerability, and how passionate you are about this and your hardest and soul is so into it

00:42:14.520 --> 00:42:21.789 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: just lovely, just really hard expanding to see how moved you are sharing that

00:42:22.540 --> 00:42:24.859 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: love love, love that?

00:42:25.980 --> 00:42:28.679 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: Wow! Okay. So

00:42:30.810 --> 00:42:33.380 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: when you what do you?

00:42:33.660 --> 00:42:39.399 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: You've just shared a little bit about pushback. When you work with your clients

00:42:39.990 --> 00:42:51.769 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: on a regular basis, what is what is the biggest struggle that you in a nutshell that you notice, with people trying to turn around their abundance mindset.

00:42:52.060 --> 00:42:55.689 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: You know we are incredibly selfish beings

00:42:56.230 --> 00:43:08.220 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: we are. We're all incredibly selfish. We are so me focused. It's all about me. And what's happening to me, and what I want, and how I feel.

00:43:08.290 --> 00:43:19.499 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: And in reality it's about. We and I love this image. If you look at the word me and you turn it upside down, you flip it upside down. It becomes the word we.

00:43:19.850 --> 00:43:35.039 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: because me is inside we, and when we approach it from a we standpoint everybody wins, and it's a whole lot easier for you to win because other people want to put skin in the game and want to support the outcome that you're trying to create.

00:43:35.050 --> 00:43:43.080 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: So instead of thinking you're all alone, and you have to do everything yourself, and you're the you know. The weight of the world is pressing down on you.

00:43:43.500 --> 00:43:47.330 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: Step back for a moment. Stop being so selfish.

00:43:47.860 --> 00:43:57.429 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: Yup. Stop trying to own it all yourself and see how you can invite others to play with you, You.

00:43:57.550 --> 00:44:03.529 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: That is abundance. Yeah, it is so much it. And I remember being on your show.

00:44:03.710 --> 00:44:11.810 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: and what I and you ask me what is abundance to you? And I said, it's an understanding that the world

00:44:11.970 --> 00:44:18.560 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: is is, despite challenges and despite traumas that overall

00:44:18.640 --> 00:44:21.410 the world is in support

00:44:22.090 --> 00:44:23.020 of me

00:44:23.090 --> 00:44:29.150 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: and all who are all in all of us. So there's a generosity of spirit

00:44:29.200 --> 00:44:34.460 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: that i'm connected to everything that all of this is in in support of us.

00:44:34.970 --> 00:44:36.240 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: So

00:44:37.230 --> 00:44:40.689 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: a wee mentality, a sense of service.

00:44:40.860 --> 00:44:53.490 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: interconnection. And that's one of the things that I really wanted to get across to everybody, because a lot of people don't understand this gratitude is the doorway to abundance

00:44:53.700 --> 00:44:59.410 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: until you are in a space of gratitude for what is already working in your life.

00:44:59.470 --> 00:45:06.959 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: More abundance is gonna show up for you, cause you're oblivious to it. You've got blinders on. You're refusing to acknowledge it and experience it.

00:45:07.100 --> 00:45:18.429 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: So. Yeah, that's why, at the end of every episode of my show, I do an activate abundance segment, because a lot of people don't understand how they can activate abundance in their own life every day.

00:45:18.480 --> 00:45:19.799 Yes.

00:47:45.740 --> 00:47:47.620 but at home

00:47:48.770 --> 00:47:50.180 on the edge

00:47:50.480 --> 00:47:51.359 of every day.

00:47:51.710 --> 00:48:11.550 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: and we are back with a lane starling. So before we dive in to activation, etc. I do have a quick announcement that I want to make to all of my listeners, just letting you know that I am taking a the rest of the month of February off. I'm. Going to take a break

00:48:11.730 --> 00:48:16.919 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: and recalibrate and work on a writing project that is

00:48:17.270 --> 00:48:21.149 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: big and exciting, and I will be back

00:48:21.330 --> 00:48:30.369 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: in March, so we will be playing some other things for you so, and you can always always go to my Youtube Channel

00:48:46.230 --> 00:48:48.549 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: Okay. So, Elaine.

00:48:49.000 --> 00:49:07.429 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: how do you? Quickly we we don't need to go a hugely into it. But get talk us through this this activation process absolutely. There are 5 steps to activate abundance, and I want you to do this all the time. I want you to do this when you talk to yourself when you talk to somebody else when you're thinking about a project, do this all the time.

00:49:07.440 --> 00:49:09.259 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: So step one is gratitude.

00:49:09.380 --> 00:49:37.830 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: You have to be in gratitude and be in gratitude that you're connected to 270,360,600people. Because if you're having a bad day, don't worry about it. It's like Dodge ball, you know nobody wants it. They're all trying to duck and weave. But if you're having a bad day, you can ping that network, and you can ping Sandra or me, because you may not believe this. You may not understand it, but our energy is connected. All you have to do is listen to one of Sanders shows or watch. One of her shows that'll pump your energy up right away.

00:49:37.840 --> 00:49:47.339 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: So be in gratitude. There's a lot of different things that can inspire and delight. You step 2 acknowledge something that you now see in a different way.

00:49:47.350 --> 00:49:58.659 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: You have a new perspective on it, or something you hadn't heard before that you think is really important. Okay, so acknowledges step. 2 step 3 is appreciate the difference it can make in your life.

00:49:58.810 --> 00:50:04.489 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: because any one of these different ideas that we've shared with. You could change everything for you

00:50:04.500 --> 00:50:27.680 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: if you're willing to apply it. Okay, Step 4 is to activate abundance. There are 2 different options, and how you activate abundance. One option is to pull out your calendar and actually schedule time like tuning in to the edge of every day every Monday that should be on your calendar. The other option is to assign a trigger. So, for example, if you want to make sure that you're coming

00:50:27.690 --> 00:50:35.240 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: to a meeting from your intention. Maybe you yank on your ear lobe a little bit as a reminder to yourself.

00:50:35.370 --> 00:50:41.380 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: I'm coming from my intention, and I know I don't want it just for me. I want it for everybody that i'm interacting with.

00:50:41.500 --> 00:50:43.370 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: And here's how i'm going to show up.

00:50:43.510 --> 00:51:00.330 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: Okay. So there's this: Those are the 2 ways to activate them. 00:53:55.790 --> 00:54:01.469 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: Okay. So what's next for you? What's your big brass? What's your next big, glorious

00:54:01.570 --> 00:54:04.089 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: thing that you're you're creating?

00:54:04.590 --> 00:54:11.599 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: You know. I want to make sure that everyone has an opportunity to experience abundance in every form

00:54:12.170 --> 00:54:29.849 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: because it's unlimited for you. It really is. It's really funny. One of the analogies I like to use. Have you ever seen parents with pre-verbal babies, children? The parents are hovering over the kid, and they want the kid to be happy. But do you want your blanket?

00:54:29.910 --> 00:54:31.510 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: Do you want your bottle?

00:54:31.680 --> 00:54:33.419 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: Do you want your toy?

00:54:33.460 --> 00:54:37.930 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: Do you want to play? You know? What do you want. I'm happy to do. What do you want?

00:54:38.320 --> 00:54:46.709 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: Well, when you're going through life, and you see a beautiful car, or you see an incredible home, or you see somebody who is doing something that you wish you could do.

00:54:46.790 --> 00:54:51.229 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: That's the Divine Being a loving parent, saying, Honey, do you want one of these.

00:54:51.370 --> 00:54:52.339 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: What what do you want?

00:54:52.570 --> 00:55:20.919 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: So I am really passionate about helping people understand how they can receive exactly what they want. So the abundance journey has been a 6 week live experience, and I'm now making it an evergreen experience, so people can start whenever they want to, and I will have a weekly live group coaching call so that everyone can get their specific answers and get the customized support that they need. So

00:55:20.930 --> 00:55:29.199 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: i'm really excited about it.

00:55:29.710 --> 00:55:46.439 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: So you're talking about a New York Times book, my friend. We've only got 2 min to end, but I mean, you know, is this: You've mentioned it 3 times now on the show. So is this a goal? It is, You bet you bet it's one of the things that people have told me. I will end up doing

00:55:46.450 --> 00:56:02.539 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: that. It's one of the best ways to reach out to a much broader audience, especially an international audience. But that's part of the reason why I started podcasting because I really want to make sure this gets out and my goal right now. I think I have 286,000 views on my Tedx talk.

00:56:02.550 --> 00:56:13.050 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: and my goal is 10 million, because so many people don't understand what they control and what they can do to experience more abundance in their lives, and I really want them to know

00:56:13.060 --> 00:56:31.080 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: that's really the point in and and why I, you know, love your work, love, how you talk about it at the end of the day. Abundance is a choice, and it's not about make getting more money. It's about shifting how you show up in your life

00:56:31.090 --> 00:56:34.009 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: and watching how that changes

00:56:34.110 --> 00:56:35.310 everything

00:56:35.430 --> 00:56:37.609 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: ripples out as we talked about.

00:56:38.080 --> 00:56:53.210 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: Well, we have 1 min. I have to thank you and give you your last words: Elaine Starling, Abundance, Ambassador. Thank you so much for spending time with us on the edge of every day. It's been a complete pleasure to have you as a guest.

00:56:53.390 --> 00:56:57.699 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: Thank you so much, and you know the thing that I most want people to understand.

00:56:58.430 --> 00:57:02.099 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: You may not believe this, but I really want you to own it.

00:57:02.780 --> 00:57:05.060 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: You are a huge blessing.

00:57:05.850 --> 00:57:07.520 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: and you are blessed.

00:57:08.010 --> 00:57:09.810 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: You just have to own it.

00:57:10.140 --> 00:57:24.050 Elaine Starling: The Abundance Journey: You have to agree to it. You have to allow it. You have to welcome it. Whatever words work for you. Decide the Drew blessing. Decide that you're blessed, and look at what shows up.

00:57:24.380 --> 00:57:25.470 Amen.

00:57:25.510 --> 00:57:30.649 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: On that note, and I want to thank all of my listeners for tuning in with us

00:57:30.840 --> 00:57:35.509 Sandra Bargman | The Edge of Everyday: this evening. I'm wishing you all abundance. And remember
